Message from the President

There are many problems in the world such as the COVID-19 pandemic since 2020, the Russian invasion of Ukraine, security issues regarding floods in Pakistan, and climate change. These are threatening the livelihoods of people all over the world, not just in certain regions or countries. In particular, in terms of climate change, approximately 2.4 trillion tons of CO2 have been emitted in the 250 years since the Industrial Revolution, and it is estimated that only 400 billion additional tons of CO2 can be emitted to keep within the 1.5 degree target. Assuming current annual emissions of 40 billion tons, achieving the 1.5 degree target is an extremely difficult challenge.

Under these circumstances, the EBARA Group will continue to contribute through the realization of its five material issues, improve corporate value without contradicting (1) social and environmental value and (2) economic value, aiming to become an excellent global company.

The EBARA Group’s environmental plant business has a basic policy to expand our business to become a "Comprehensive provider of waste management and resource-recycling solutions" in order to limit the environmental destruction caused by climate change to a reversible level, in accordance with the government's "realizing carbon neutrality by 2050 and a 46% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions in fiscal year 2030 compared to fiscal year 2013". Under our E-Plan 2025 Medium-term Management Plan, which starts this year, we will make our core business of constructing and operating waste treatment facilities more sophisticated by utilizing AI and IOT, and focus on developing new technologies and services as a comprehensive provider of waste management and resource-recycling solutions, aiming to realize a better society with the key phrase "Change the thinking on disposal. Change the future."

Through our core businesses, we will continue to contribute to the revitalization of local economies and improvement of the living environment, while actively communicating with our customers, local residents, and other stakeholders, aiming to be a transparent company that is trusted by all stakeholders.

Finally, we sincerely appreciate your continued patronage and support.

Masayuki Kai, President and Representative Director
